This block of instruction will introduce the student to terms and definitions used in human source intelligence development.  The course will give the student a basic understanding of soft power and hard power techniques for spotting, assessing, developing, recruiting, handling, and terminating a source of information.

Learning Objectives:

  •   Learner will understand why people are willing to become sources of human intelligence and how they can influence or sway behavior.
  • Learner will learn how to use elicitation to build a baseline of trust and rapport with just about anyone while understanding the importance of the three M model – message, messenger, and method.
  • Learner will learn how to appeal to a targeted individual’s needs and/or wants balancing trust with control to develop human intelligence.
