Overview:

This block of instruction will introduce the student to terms and definitions about emerging technologies and the impact on policing in the 21st century.  The course will prepare the student for better understanding how technology will assist police work and pose a threat to officers and potentially democracy.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learner will understand the how nanotechnology, robotics, optics/sensors, biologics, 3D manufacturing, the Internet of everything, and energy can have the potential to disrupt social order.
  • Learner will learn how memory driven computing, full sensory computing, ubiquitous computing, big data analysis, and artificial intelligence will assist police officers soon.
